Michael J. Dougherty age 83 died on December 8, 2025. He was born October 7, 1942 in Dover, NJ. He is the son of the late William Joseph and the late Eleanor (Zasky) Dougherty.
Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, being an outdoorsman, playing cards, reading and a music lover. After the death of his father, he took over management of Dougherty’s Central house until 1992.
He is survived by, 2 Sons, Daniel and wife Janet, Joel, 2 daughters, Bridget and husband Ben, Erin and husband Dale, 1 sister, Patricia and husband David, many grandchildren, Jamie, Daniel and fiancée Ashley, Justine, Matt, Jarred, Luke, Jordan, Jake, Hannah, Hailey, Brittany, Dale, Dustin, and Anthony. Also, he is survived by 3 Great Grandchildren, Daymond, Sierah, Gianna.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street Hackettstown NJ 07840. A funeral Mass will be on Friday December 12, 2025 at Our Lady of The Mountain Church 2 East Spring Town Road, Long Valley NJ 07853 at 10:30am. The burial will be at Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bangor Public Library, 39 South Main Street, Bangor PA 18013.

I remember Michael as always laughing – very good sense of humor. One annual class photo shows Mike and a few friends in the top row trying to contain their laughter but the picture said otherwise. A good
