Nordman, Rudolf Ernst November 27, 1937 - January 1, 2021

Rudolf Ernst Nordman, 83 of Mount Olive passed away at home Friday, January 1, 2021. He died of declining heart function following years of declining health.  He was born on November 27, 1937 to the late Elisabeth Stahmer and Otto Nordman.  Rudi served in the US Army and upon discharge he began his career as a tool & die maker.  He retried from NBR Tool, his business for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Mason’s at Musconetcong Lodge # 42 F&AM of Budd Lake for 21 years.  Honored with the title of Distinguished White Apron Brother, he served as an officer of the lodge for many years.  Rudi was an active member of scouting with 43 years of service serving as Chairman for 12 years.
A devoted father, grandfather and church member, he enjoyed camping, cooking, history, music, and traveling.  His greatest joy was our large boisterous family coming together for picnics and reunions.
Rudi is survived by four children: Bethanne Nordman Schoenlank and husband James; Suzanne Nordman Young and husband James; Rudolf Nordman; Eberhard Nordman and wife Michelle.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Mathew, Sara, Samantha, Rachael, Reese, Taylor, Derek, extended family and many dear friends.
Rudi is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Ann Fiedler in 2020 , his grandson Tyler Young in 2016 and all his siblings at various times.
A celebration of Rudi’s life, along with his wife Pat, for family and close friends will be scheduled at a later time at the United Presbyterian Church.  It is expected for Pastor Rick  to  officiate.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to  Donate to Shriners Hospitals for Children — Legacy Giving (lovetotherescue.org) .    General condolences may be sent to t he  The Nordman Family,   United Presbyterian Church at 58 Drakesdale Road, Flanders, NJ 07836.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I was worshipful master of Musconetcong in 2017 and asked Rudy to be my Tyler. Even with all of his medical conditions he really tried to do his best for me which I appreciated. I was a past Eagle Scout and we enjoyed talking about scouting and how much that meant to him. He will be greatly missed.
