Joan R. Baron, age 79, of Belvidere, NJ died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.  Joan was born July 17, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Walter C. and Rose Joan (Miller) Miller.

She was employed by Warren County Crisis Center, Phillipsburg, NJ as a Crisis Manager, earning her Master’s Degree in Human Services from Rider University.

Joan was an avid animal lover, especially to her beloved dogs.  She enjoyed a social lifestyle, going on trips to the casinos and many other adventures with her retirement community.  In addition she loved playing Mahjong in her competitive Mahjong league and with her dear friends.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Theresa Binder and husband Robert, her son, Matthew Baron and wife Joanne and her beloved grandchildren, Evan, Kayla, Alex and Julia.

Visitation will be Friday, January 13 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.  The funeral service will be held 7:30 pm on Friday, January 13 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA, 520 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018 in memory of Joan.
