Marlene Amparo, age 48, of Washington, NJ died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Marlene was born June 24, 1973 in Sabana Grande DeBoyá, Dominican Republic. She is the daughter of Sergio and Melanea (Castillo) Amparo. Marlene was predeceased by a brother, Walkis Amparo.
She was employed by Heath Village, Hackettstown NJ as a Home Health Aid. Marlene emigrated from the Dominican Republic 20 years ago. She worked hard to make sure her children ranging from 13 – 24 years old had a good life in America, ensuring that they had an education, went to college and had a strong work ethic. She was a beautiful, strong individual who fought her illness with grace. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Marlen Suero Amparo, her three devoted sons, Will and Alex Suero Amparo, and Timothy Sorber Amparo, her loving parents, Sergio and Melanea (Castillo) Amparo, two brothers, Lewis Amparo, Ernesto Amparo, three sisters, Aracelis Amparo, Glenny Amparo, Sivelis Amparo and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 14 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. Burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows.
Visitation hours will be Saturday, May 14 from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
