William Bachman, Jr., age 78, of Hackettstown died Friday, February 14, 2025 at Hackettstown Medical Center, Hackettstown, N.J.  William was born November 27, 1946 in Franklin, NJ. He is the son of the late William and Susan (Durachka) Bachman, Sr.

He served in the USMC during the the Vietnam war from 12/01/1964 to 08/12/1968.  He was employed by U.S. Postal Service at the Hackettstown Post Office, Hackettstown, NJ for over 40 years, retiring in 2010.

William was a member of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Hackettstown. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend, he truly loved his family and was always ready to help others.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia (Tchorzewski) Bachman ; a son, William Bachman a daughter, Jennifer Bachman and a granddaughter Destinee Quattlebaum

The funeral will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 18 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Damian Tomiczek officiating.  Entombment will will be in Hackettstown Union Cemetery Mausoleum, Hackettstown immediately following the Mass.

Calling hours will be Monday, February 17 from 4 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home,  905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..

In Lieu of flowers donations in his name to Church of the Assumption 302 High Street Hackettstown, NJ  07840 would be appreciated.

    I had the pleasure of knowing Bill during my many years in Hackettstown. We always enjoyed talking sports and golf. Our sons graduated together and played as teammates in football and baseball.. My condolences to the family.
