Margaret Barbera, age 91, of Hackettstown died Sunday, November 8, 2020 at home. Margaret was born May 30, 1929 in Paterson, NJ to the late Paul and Margaret (Ianiello) D’Antonio. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luciano “John” Barbera, her granddaughter, Rachel Hut Bremen, her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Louis “Red” Pesoli, her sister-in-law, Gloria D’Antonio and her brother-in-law Paul Van Duren.
Margaret loved watching old westerns, she was a fan of pop culture, was talented at embroidery and sewing. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and listening to her favorite rock band – Foreigner but most of all she enjoyed being with her family, she was a wonderful cook and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Joanne Hut and husband Pete, her devoted son, Victor Barbera and wife Dawn, her brother, Paul D’Antonio, her sister, Elizabeth Van Duren and her cherished granddaughters, Rececca Hut, Danielle, Amanda and Sarah Barbera and one grand son-in-law, Adam Bremen.
Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 4-8 pm.
The funeral service will be held 11 am on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the funeral home with Father Damien Tomiczek officiating. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following services.
