Elizabeth Rose Barton, age 93, of Round Hill, VA died Monday, June 26, 2023 at Inova Loudoun Hospital of Leesburg, VA. Elizabeth was born November 1, 1929 in Johnstone, Scotland to the late James and Isabelle (McDaid) Mullen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Barton; son John M. Barton; sister Marjorie Whaley and brother James Mullen.
She and her husband James were owners of Barton’s West End Farms, Oxford, NJ for many years before her retirement.
She enjoyed reading, swimming, traveling, music and spending time with her family. She was a long time resident of Great Meadows, NJ and a member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church before relocating to the Virginia area.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughters, Maureen Dabkowski, husband Jerry and Kathy Scanlan, husband Danny; loving son, James Barton, Wife Sue; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. God has Blessed our family with her love, fire in her soul, and grace in her heart. Today and every day we will celebrate her life with love, enormous gratitude that God gave her to us.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 8th at 12:30 pm at Saints Peter And Paul R.C. Church, 360 US Hwy 46, Great Meadows, NJ with Rev. Grzegorz “Greg” Podsiadlo officiating. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, NJ following the Mass.
Visitation will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 on Saturday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
