In Loving Memory of Kathryn “Sue” Susan Bernard

Kathryn “Sue” Susan Bernard, a long-time resident of Hackettstown, New Jersey, born in Ashtabula, OH, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, at the age of 87.

Known affectionately to family and friends as “Sue,” she brought warmth, wisdom, and steadfast dedication to all those around her. Her gentle nature, kind heart, and devotion to her family will be dearly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A proud graduate of the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio, Sue spent her career working as an Educator and Librarian, touching many lives throughout her years.

She was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown, NJ for over 50 years, where she sang in the choir and worked in the church Thrift Shop. 

Family & Loved Ones

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Carl Bernard.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her surviving family, including her children Andrew C. Bernard (with daughter-in-law Rachel Bernard) and Kerry L. Roselle (with son-in-law Phil Roselle), along with her grandchildren Jared Bernard, Rhiannon Bernard, and Khilian Bernard, and great-granddaughter Blair Bernard.

Her faith and family were the cornerstone of her life, and she took immense pride in watching her children and grandchildren grow.

Service & Arrangements

A memorial service to celebrate Sue’s life and honor her memory will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, led by Pastor Erica.

Arrangements are being handled with care by Cochran Funeral Home in Hackettstown, NJ. Family, friends, and neighbors are warmly invited to join in celebrating Sue’s life and sharing fond memories.
