Cardell, Anthony John February 11, 1949 - May 21, 2023

Anthony John Cardell “John”, age 74,  died May 21, 2023 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.  John was born on February 11, 1949 to the late Tony Cardell, II and the late Gloria (Jennings) Ehrhardt.  In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Cardell.

John worked for over 20 years as a Truck Driver for Welsh Farms, Long Valley, upon leaving Welsh Farms he  he took a position at Mansfield Village as their Superintendent until he retired.  John loved being a jokester, cracking jokes all the time, he enjoyed going to flea markets and riding his motorycle to find different place to eat.  Let’s not forget he was a big NY Jets fan!  He loved his grandkids and great grands, hanging out with them on the patio and watching them play.

John is survived by his son, Tony Cardell, his daughter Melissa Jones and her husband Stephen, his sister, Cynthia Shotwell, two step-daughters, Jackie DiCocco, Leah Procino, four grandchildren, Kaitlin and Nicole VanOrden and Sienna and Leana Cardell, three great-grandchildren, Justin, Clayton and Zoe.

    To Johns children & Extended family – Kathy & I are so sad to hear of Johns passing. To his sister Cindy may God watch over you in your time of sorrow, I cant count the number of time I spent with the Cardell family in my younger years. I am so sad I am lost for words. RIP John.

    We the cousins Janet, Suzanne and Tommy are so sorry for your loss. We have fond memories of visits with the family in Hackettstown when we were young. Uncle Tony was upbeat and fun to be around. That saying was very true, John was his father’s son! Yes, Aunt Gloria would say Bill was her second son!
