Barbara Cors, 64, of Allamuchy, NJ, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA. Barbara was born on April 10, 1957 in Kingston, PA and moved to NJ where she graduated from Rutherford High School. She then went on to graduate from the Rutgers University School of Nursing.
Barbara spent her career in nursing in both acute and primary care. She worked as a critical care nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ followed by Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. She worked in the medical practice of Central Morris Neurology in Denville, NJ for many years. She transitioned to school nursing and served as the middle school nurse at Red Oaks School in Morristown, NJ. Most recently she served as substitute school nurse at Gill St. Bernard’s School in Gladstone, NJ.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown where she served on the Board of Deacon’s. In this role, she provided community service and led a bi-annual community clothing drive. She had a strong faith that guided her in life.
Barbara was an avid cook and baker, loved sewing, and gardening. Her greatest love of all were her husband Bill and her daughter Mary. Barbara cherished her family and her daughter Mary was the light of her life. Barbara and Mary were often together traveling to multiple Taylor Swift concerts, spent many happy summer vacations at Chautauqua Institution in western NY state and Ocean City Maryland.
Barbara is survived by her husband Bill, of 33 years, their daughter Mary, and Bill’s daughters Julie Ryan (Daniel) and Patsy Deyo (Scott). She is also survived by her mother Sally Kotch and her sister Sally Santo (Joseph), multiple nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her father Frank Kotch and her brother Frank Kotch (Elyse).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lehigh Valley Health Network Cancer Institute by going to give.lvhn.org. A celebration of life will be held at future date. Details will be shared by the family.
