Irene E Cyphers, age 91, of Hackettstown died Friday, January 22, 2021 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center. Irene was born September 7, 1929 in Hope, NJ to the late Floyd and Loretta (Swayze) Poyer. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Cyphers in 2011, her son, Donald A Cyphers and two brothers, Claude R. Poyer and Oscar Poyer.
Irene graduated from White Township Elementary School and Belvidere High School. She married Charles “Bert” Cyphers on August 20, 1949 and they moved to Hackettstown in 1951. She was previously employed by Hackettstown Board of Education as a Cafeteria Manager.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Bonnie Palma of Hackettstown, NJ, Robin Ivaseczko and husband Matt of Great Meadows, NJ two cherished grandchildren, Mike A. Cyphers of Hackettstown, NJ, Bethany D. Cyphers of Kamas, Utah, two brothers, Edgar J. Poyer of Oxford, NJ and Arthur M. Poyer of Blalirstown, NJ. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, January 28 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Dr. Rev. Frank Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows following services.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 4 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
For those desiring donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 299 Cherry Hill Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054 in memory of Irene.
