Bernadette Joan Kraszyk Daly, 83, of Mansfield, NJ passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2021. Berney was born to Roman and Pearl Kraszyk, in Jersey City, NJ. Her parents sent her to Immaculate Conception HS in Lodi in the hopes she would be inspired to become a nun. In classic Bernadette style, she instead fell in love with and married her Navy sweetheart Brian Daly Sr. shortly after graduation to whom she was married 50 years. They had five children, Brian Sr., Timothy, Jennifer, Christopher, and Shannon. Berney called Long Valley home for over 30 years, and spent the last 10 as a resident of Colonial Manor in Mansfield, where she was treated like family by Isabel, Monica, and the rest of the staff.
Bernadette loved being at the beach, shopping, laughing with friends, shopping, Rock N’ Roll, shopping, and the New York Yankees. She and Brian Sr. drew great joy from their service as youth ministers at Our Lady of the Mountain Church for nearly two decades. Most importantly, she loved her children, grandchildren, brothers, sister-in-laws, and friends.
Bernadette joins husband Brian Sr., son Brian Jr. and daughter Shannon in heaven. She is survived by son Timothy and wife Careth, their daughters Emily and Rylan of Long Valley; daughter Jennifer, her husband Donald Gensinger and daughter Paige of Garfield/Fords; son Christopher, his wife Amanda, daughters Gita and Priya of West Orange; Tracy Hagen, widow of Brian Jr., their son Keiran and his daughter Ava, of Hodges, SC; son-in-law Matthew Cleary, widower of Shannon, daughters Kayla, Nora and Quinn of Vineland; and her beloved brothers Raymond Kraszyk and wife Patty of Leominster, MA; and Ronald Kraszyk and wife Tish of Bayonne, NJ and their beautiful families.
There are no services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please bring some joy to the staff at your local hospital, first responders, or those at a senior care facility with flowers, food, or a donation of any amount. Kindness goes a long way.

January 31, 2021 at 3:03 pmWhat a beautiful obituary, how does one sum up Bernie in a few paragraphs? Everyone who knew Bernie, knew her well. She & Brian made such a difference in SO MANY lives and showed us how to love and how to be loved by God. They were a huge influence on my life, as was your whole family! Sadly, your family has endured, not only losing your parents, but also a brother & sister who left us too soon. I can only pray for all of you through this difficult time. And in true ministering, will be more than happy to “pay it forward” – so appropriate. We love you all! 😘
