Padmaben Desai, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Hackettstown, NJ.

Padma was born in a small village in India, where she lived until her marriage in 1955. She then moved to the city of Kolkata, where she raised two daughters. She came to America in 1993 to reside in Hackettstown with her older daughter. A deeply spiritual woman, she was devoted to her prayers and to her family.

She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses: Anjana & Anirudh Desai, and Arpita & Madhusudan Sen; one brother, Amritbhai; and four grandchildren: Ushma Desai, Pooja Desai, Urav Desai, and Priyanka & husband Pradiph Jaiswal. She also has two great-grandchildren, Roshni and Krish Jaiswal.

She was predeceased by her parents Gajaraben and Chhotubhai Desai, her husband Mahendra Desai, and her grandson Neelay Desai.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.  With a service beginning at 4:00pm at Cochran Funeral Home.  Interment services are private at the family’s request.
