Joseph D. DuPont Jr., age 64, of Highlands, NJ died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy, NJ.  Joseph was born June 5, 1960 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Joseph Donald, Sr. and Marion (McDonald) DuPont.

Joe was previously employed by NJ Transit, Neptune NJ as a Bus Driver before his retirement.  Joe was an avid NY Jets and Yankees fan, loved the Jersey Shore, enjoyed boating, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family, friends, and animals. We will miss his sense of humor and company deeply.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife: Katherine (Coogan) DuPont, his cherished daughter, Eva Rose DuPont and fiancé Ryan Molloy, two sisters, Linda Madison (David), Caroline Helman (Mark), a brother, John DuPont (Christine), brothers and sisters-in-law, Patricia Coogan Wyle (Christopher), Jeanne Coogan, Mary Coogan (Stephen Reuning), Ellen Coogan (Greg Barnes), Anne Coogan (Gary Meisch), John R. Coogan, Jr. (Michele Germann), nieces and nephews, Ashley Bauers  (Brian), Jillian Dante (Nicholas), Courtney DuPont (fiancé Tyler), Sarah and Samantha Helman, Garrett DuPont, Nicholas Helman, Melissa, Tim and Amy Wyle, Brien (Caroline) and Meredith Rocha, Winston Reuning (Dana), Alison Acevedo (Silvio Dantas), Kelsey and Sean Meisch, Kaitlyn Miller (Michael), Corinne Ferraris (Matthew), many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of life visitation will be Thursday, December 19 from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, 168 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Somerset, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30 pm following the visitation at the church.
