Cynthia “Cindy” L. Elcock, age 56, of Hackettstown died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center of Hackettstown, NJ. Cynthia was born December 28, 1965 in Denville, NJ to the late William E. and Dorothy M. (Dockeray) McVicar. In addition to her parents Cindy is preceded in death by her brother William McVicar, her sister Dorothy Nunn and husband John and her mother-in-law Jane Elcock.
She was previously employed by Alfred Dunner, Parsippany, NJ as the Lead Floor Person for many years. Cynthia loved spending time with her husband, Jon, fishing and making him happy. She was hard working and had a strong spirit, enjoying helping others, always there to do whatever she could for her friends and family. She loved animals, traveling to Florida to see the dolphins and mantes in the wild and her absolute favorite color was pink.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jonathan Elcock, her daughter who she gave up for adoption in 1985, Catherine (Katy) McGregor whom she had been recently reunited with and are extremely grateful for and her four year old grandson, Patrick McGregor, father-in-law, Gerold Elcock, two brothers, Gregory McVicar and wife Helen, Barry McVicar and wife Laura, two sisters-In-law, Sue Colbert and husband Rob, Marion McDonald, ten nieces and nephews, Hannah, Madeline, Claire, Sadie, Brandon, J, Ally, Ben, Paddy and Anna, and her cherished cats, Honey Mustard, Handsome and Spot.
The funeral service will be held 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 15 at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Rev. Donald Gebhard officiating. Cremation will be private.
