Gaertner, Eric D. – Cochran Funeral

Eric Daniel Gaertner, age 26, of Great Meadows, NJ died Wednesday, June 28, 2023 , Eric was born March 6, 1997 in Hackettstown, N.J.. He is the son of Gregory J. and Sonja (Provost) Gaertner.

He was employed by Jake’s Powerwashing Company Belvidere, NJ as a Wood Yard Chief Machine Operator and Mechanic.

He is survived by his fiancé Caitlin Pruden, daughters Mila Gaertner and Madison Smiley, his parents Gregory J. and Sonja (Provost) Gaertner; his beloved brother Sean Gaertner; his grandmother Hildegard Provost, Aunts and Uncles Amanda Tulumalo (Charles), Gary Gaertner (Betty), Laurie Tinc (Nate) Melinda Gaertner (Ben Nagy ), Cheri Pinho (John) and Donna Gaertner and many cousins near and far.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Walter Provost and William Gaertner and his grandmother Joan Rice.

Eric is also survived by his many beloved friends and his dogs Bailey, Shadow, Nova and Mani.

Eric was a force from the minute he entered this world to the minute he left. He was passionate in what he believed and would stand up without question for any of those he cared about. He loved driving fast in his “R”, hunting and fishing, working on cars and anything else. He was quick to learn things. Smarter than most.

He loved his family and friends but most of all he loved Caitlin, Mila and Madison

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday July 11 at 11am at the Cochran Funeral Home 905 High Street, Hackettstown. Funeral services will begin at 1pm following the visitation with interment to follow in Stanhope Union Cemetery
