Lucille Kinney Gerola, age 89, died Sunday May 14, 2023. She was born on July 8, 1933 in Sparta, NJ. She is the daughter of the late Louie and the late Jeanette (Kinney) Kooger.
She was a chocolate maker at M&M Mars, Hackettstown NJ and retired after many years. Lucy was an avid reader, played softball and bowled for M&M Mars. On August 16th, 1952, she married her beloved husband Michael “Tick” Gerola. They were each other’s lifelong companions and best friends.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Gerola, Michael Gerola and wife Geraldine, Michelle Godlewski and husband Kenneth. She is also survived by her brothers, Lester Kinney, and Jacob Kooger, her 11 grandchildren, Rachael, Jeanette, Nicole, Michael, Courtney, Joey, Nicholas, Louis, Anthony, Natalie, and Phillip, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased in death by her husband Michael her granddaughter, Stephanie Gerola, her great grandson, Christian Gerola, and her brother Frank Kinney.
Calling hours will be Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass to Celebrate her life will be held 10:00 am on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Leopoldo Salvania officiating. Burial will be in Johnsonburg Methodist Cemetery, Frelinghuysen Township immediately following the Mass.
