Joseph E. Gleason, 88 of Mansfield Township, NJ died Wednesday December 30th at home.
Born in Morristown he was the son and only child of the late Elmer J. Gleason and Alice M. (Skerry) Gleason.
Joe served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany where he served with the Military Police.
Joe was an engineer with Foster-Wheeler in Clinton. He was a pipe design engineer and worked at Saudi Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia and at Marine Loading facilities in the port city of Yambu also in Saudi Arabia.
He enjoyed photography and walking and was interested in family history and genealogy
Growing up in New York City he went to Xavier High School. He was a member of St. Theodore Roman Catholic Church in Mansfield Township.
He was pre deceased by his son John F. Gleason in 2005
Joe is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary (Roddy) a son Matthew and his wife Christina and 2 granddaughters Caitlyn and Lauren Gleason.
Joe will be cremated and his cremains will be buried with military honors in the spring at Pequest Union Cemetery, 30 Cemetery Road, Great Meadows, N.J.
