Hahn, Cheryl Lynn October 8, 1940 - April 17, 2023

Date of Funeral

April 20, 2023

Cheryl Lynn (Hennion) Hahn of Schooley’s Mountain, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17, 2023 after a long illness.  She was 82.  She was a loving wife and mother who was always there for her family.  Born in Morristown, NJ, she grew up in Parsippany, and was a 1958 graduate of Boonton High School.  Cheryl was predeceased by her mother Evelyn (Howard) Hennion, father Horace Hennion, and son-in-law Michael Zwickert.  Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Louis of Schooley’s Mountain, son Louis and wife Rebecca of Fredon, daughter Gretchen Zwickert of Saylorsburg, PA, daughter Karen Johnson and husband Jeffrey of Hackettstown, and son Douglas and wife Stephanie of Blairstown.  She was blessed with eight grandchildren Andrew, Cassandra, Heidi, Samantha, Braeden, Zachary, Theodore, and Abigail and two great granddaughters Elizabeth and Emilie.  Cheryl is also survived by her brother Parker Hennion and wife Joan of Andover.

Cheryl retired in 2001 after working for many years at Warner Lambert/Parke Davis/Pfizer in Morris Plains, NJ.  As the family historian, Cheryl was active in the David Ackerman Descendants 1662 and was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.  Among other accomplishments, she worked tirelessly to get John David Hennion of Preakness, NJ his well-deserved recognition as a Revolutionary War Patriot.  Cheryl loved her collection of over 1,000 daylilies and participated in Lilyhemmer and the American Hemerocallis Association.  In 2010, she registered her hybridized ‘Mission Pearl’ daylily.  Cheryl dedicated a great deal of time supporting our troops over the years through thoughtful, encouraging correspondence and shipping needed and often fun items overseas.

Services will be private.  Memorial donations in remembrance of Cheryl may be made to The Valerie Fund, 2101 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040; thevaleriefund.org

My sympathy for the loss of Cheryl. I am sure someone in the family will continue her family history. My mom had an Uncle Thomas J. Hennion of Abbott Ave. in Morristown. Will share their history whenever you are ready
