William A. Hall, Sr. 80, of Effort, PA, passed away peacefully Sept. 2, 2021 after a short illness.
Born in Hackettstown, NJ, Mr. Hall graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1960 where he was a talented fullback on the football team.
Upon graduation, he joined Jersey Central Power & Light and retired from the Highway Liaison Division of JCP&L in 1989.
Upon retirement, Mr. Hall moved to Park Rapids, MN with his wife, Barbara where they purchased and operated the Park Rapids Motel. They then moved to Clayton, NC before finally settling in Effort, PA.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara, two children, Lori Craig (Don) and William A. Hall, Jr, and one step-son Jeffrey Sabol (Karen), as well as four grandchildren Kelsey Craig, Kari Craig, Nicholas Hall (Shaina) and Briana Hall as well as two step-grandchildren, Logan and Shane, and one great-grandson, Kane Hall.
For many years, Mr. Hall played outfield with the Hackettstown Men’s Softball league. In retirement, he enjoyed his hobbies of stained glass, wood working, and refurbishing antique clocks.
Bill will be greatly missed by family and their spoiled Chihuahua’s Harley and Lucy and lovingly remembered by those who knew him, as a hard-working, all-around ‘nice guy’ who was always willing to lend hand to anyone in need.
