Cynthia Hendershot, age 64, of Columbia, NJ died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Bethlehem, PA. Cynthia was born March 4, 1958 in Lexington, NC. She is the daughter of the late Louis and Ruth (Bates) Edwards, Jr.
Cynthia had worked for the Washington Township (Morris County) Board of Education as a cook and had served at all of the township schools.
Cynthia was a very giving person, she would do anything for others to help out. She always put others first. The light of her life and the sparkle in her eye came from her grandbaby, Brianna May Hendershot. She loved taking care of Brianna, it was the joy of her life.
Cynthia is survived by her husband of 42 years Herbert Hendershot who she met when she was 14 years old and they had been a couple ever since. They have known each other for 50 years. She is also survived by her son, Eric Hendershot, a daughter, Joanna Hendershot, step-daughter, Lori, step-son, Butchie, her granddaughter, Brianna May Hendershot. A son, Robert, died shortly after he was born. Also surviving Cynthia are brothers, sisters, brothers in law and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and dear friends, Honoring Cynthia’s wishes there will be no public funeral services.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cochran Funeral Home 905 High Street Hackettstown, NJ 07840
