Rest in eternal peace to one of heavens newest Angels, Joanne.

I met Joanne at Centenary College (now University) where she barged into the Print Shop with her robust personality on full display. Her first words to me were, “Hi, I’m Joanne from the Women’s Center. I’ll be doing a lot of printing and I’ll be a pain in your…..” Hahaha! What an introduction! Pure Joanne! Of course, she was never anything other than kind, patient and funny as heck. She was one of my favorites.

Over the years we became the best work buddies. She helped me through my divorce, comforted me when my parents passed, and celebrated with me throughout years for all things, big and small.

When she was diagnosed, the major concern she shared wasn’t about her future limitations, it was for Mark and Danielle. She never wanted to be a burden, and as time passed that concern never changed. The largest lament she spoke of was wanting her family to be free of any undue strains. It was rarely about her when we talked. Although she did get annoyed with the limits at times and had a colorful way of saying so, in typical Joanne fashion. LOL!

On more times than I can remember, she expressed such gratitude for the way Mark looked after her. She was beyond grateful.

Joanne was always far more brave than she gave herself credit for. Her spirit touched many lives while helping others navigate through difficult times in their own lives at the Women’s Center. She was special, more special than she knew. She will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

Sending much love and bright energy to Mark, Danielle and the entire family. Randibeth XOX
