Holz, George William, Jr. January 31, 1948 - September 6, 2023

George William Holz, Jr., aged 75, passed away peacefully in his home in Hackettstown, NJ on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. George was born January 31, 1948 in East Orange, NJ to the late Carol and George William Holz, Sr., and he was a proud New Jerseyan all his life. In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Naomi Sadlon, and his brother-in-law, George Malek.

George proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1973. He worked for Exxon Bayway Refinery, IBEW Local 52 and 164, and Anheuser-Busch Co., before becoming a coordinator for ConocoPhillips in the years up until his retirement. In addition, George was a volunteer fireman for the Warren Township Fire Department, was an avid craftsman, and loved classic cars, especially his 1964 Corvette. He had a passion for restoring homes, vintage items, and antiques, always working with his hands. Most of all he was a family man who adored spending time with his wife, children, and extended family.

George is survived by his loving wife, Terri; cherished daughters, Charisse, Katie, and Amy; beloved sons, Dan, William, and Andy; sister, Janet; grandchildren, Morgan, Ellie, Kevin, Brittany, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Kiera, Kayla, and one on the way; nephew, Jeffrey; as well as many other cherished family members and friends who will greatly miss him.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11 am at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, 75 North Church Road, Sparta, NJ 07871 with Rev. Tosha Brown officiating. Burial with honors will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or to a charity of your choice in memory of George.
