Carolyn Hunt, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 82 at Hackettstown Hospital. Born in Morristown to Ernest and Edith (Drake) Smith on October 4, 1941, Carolyn dedicated her life to her family and helping others.
Carolyn spent more than 25 years working with children and families across Warren County for the NJ Department of Families Regional School Warren Campus.
Her love for animals, especially cats, was evident throughout her life. Her passion for nurturing extended beyond her work into her role as a beloved matriarch. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harrison Hunt, in April 1992 and her twin great-granddaughters Ella and Stella Cavanagh.
Carolyn’s legacy continues through her daughter, Carol Cavanagh, who married Tom Cavanagh. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Christopher Cavanagh and Adam Cavanagh. Christopher is married to Jami Cavanagh, and they have three daughters: Kaylee, Khloe, and Kella. Adam Cavanagh and his wife, Courtney Cavanagh, have a son named Harrison Cavanagh.
Carolyn’s entire family brought immense joy to her life, but boy did she light up for her great-grandchildren.
Carolyn Hunt’s warmth, love, and dedication to her family and work will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
A graveside services will be held on Wednesday November 29, 2023 at 11:00am at Pequest Union Cemetery, 30 Cemetery Road, Great Meadows NJ 07838.
