John Joseph Ilvento, of Hackettstown, New Jersey passed away on Monday June 8th, 2020 after reaching the age of 93 years old. He died peacefully within his home of over 50 years in Hackettstown.
John was born on May 18th 1927 in Newark, NJ, to Giovanni and Maria Ilvento, both immigrants of Italy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Norma Ilvento, his children Lisa and (Jeff) Keelan along with John and (Kim) Ilvento, his grandchildren Kara and (Brian Thorson), Lauren and (Claudio) Scandiffio, Nicholas and John Ilvento. Great grandchildren Cooper and Carter Thorson, Rosie and Milo Scandiffio.
He was a big band enthusiast, avid reader and loyal New York Ranger fan. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, supportive father, loyal friend and proud grandfather.
The family will be conducting a private memorial in his honor.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.

I had the privilege of knowing John and spending time with him at HMC- he was a special person with a sharp wit and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
