Joyce W. Ervey, age 92, of Allamuchy, NJ died September 17, 2020 at 11:05 AM. Born April 21, 1928 in Caldwell, NJ, a daughter of the late Douglas E. Williams, Sr. and Genevieve R. Williams. She married Harold J. Ervey, Sr. and resided on Ervey Farms since 1946. Graduated Newton High School in 1946.

Member of Tranquility United Methodist Church, Charter Member and Secretary of the young adult group, as well as Member and Secretary of the United Methodist Women of the
church. Den Mother of Allamuchy Cub Scouts in the 60’s, served on the Allamuchy Township Board of Education from 1973 – 1977, Bookkeeper for Ervey Farms from 1962 until retiring March, 2005. Her husband of 51 years, Harold J. Ervey Sr., died February 4, 1998. Mrs. Ervey and her sons operated Ervey Farms until March, 2005 when Mrs. Ervey retired after 43 years and their sons took over the business.

She is survived by her children: Harold J. Ervey, Jr. of Roswell, NM, Bonita D. Farrar and husband Henry of Douglasville, GA, Heidi L. Ervey of Huntersville, NC, Robin J. Feiner and
husband Mark of Fuquay Varina, NC., Kevin W. Ervey, Sr. and wife Donna, Timothy A. Ervey and wife Debra, of Allamuchy, NJ. She has 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, a sister Judith A. Sterba of Cresco, PA, a brother Douglas E. Williams (died 2001) and a brother Barry M. Williams (died 1994). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 23 at Tranquility Cemetery, 40 Tranquility Road, Tranquility, NJ with Rev. Fred Laux officiating

Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 23 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J..
