Kasper, Dorothy M. January 30, 1934 - January 14, 2021

Dorothy Marion Kasper, 86, of Independence Township, New Jersey, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at home. Due to a prolonged illness, she had been under hospice care.

Born January 30,1934, in Warren County, New Jersey, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Archie and Anna (Walsh) Bates.

She and her beloved husband, Chester Kasper, were married in St. Jude’s RC Church in Blairstown on October 10, 1970 and remained happily married until his death onFebruary 7, 1995.

 

Dorothy graduated from Belvidere High School and worked for over twenty years as a bookkeeper. She also worked many years for Reds Associates in the cleaning services and later became self employed until her retirement.  A deeply religious person, Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Peter and Paul RC Church in Great Meadows, New Jersey and attended services regularly. She was also a loyal member of Soroptimist International of Hackettstown for decades and served as treasurer for several years. Dorothy was a kind and compassionate person who was loved by all.

She is survived by a son, Keith, at home.  A brother, Archie Bates, Jr. passed away in 2017.

A graveside services will be held at Pequest Union Cemetery in Great Meadows, New Jersey on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 3 PM.
