Laura E. Kasper, age 83, died peacefully Thursday, January 30, 2025, surrounded by family at home. Laura was born on February 25, 1941 in Dover, NJ to the late Leslie and Helen (Ackley) Pearl. In addition to her parents, Laura is preceded in death by her sister Joan Terhune and her husband, William.
Laura was a longtime resident of Hackettstown, NJ and was still close with childhood friends that she met in kindergarten. She was previously employed by Hackettstown Community Hospital, in their Food Service Department for 40 years, retiring in 2016. She loved sewing, gardening, and cooking. She was extremely generous and often brought friends and neighbors food when they were in need. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown for 64 years, 15 of which she had volunteered at the Church Thrift Shop. She loved all wildlife that would visit her yard and bird feeders especially the chipmunks! She looked forward to the annual town wide yard sale each year. It brought her joy to see friends and the community that stopped by and find a treasure or two. Many came just for the plants that she took from her garden.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years: Frank Kasper Jr., her two daughters, Jennifer Perry and husband Shay, Laurie Dowd, and two sons, Frank Kasper, III, Jeffrey Kasper, 5 grandchildren, Ryan and Nicholas Kasper; Madelyn Perry, and Grace and Timothy Dowd and her sister Hazel Lynch and husband, Mike.
At the request of the family, all services are private. Laura will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Hackettstown, NJ,
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association in Laura’s memory.
