Donald James MacClellan
November 24, 1960- August 18, 2025
Donald James MacClellan was born November 24, 1960 in Newton, NJ and died August 18, 2025 in Hackettstown, NJ after succumbing to the ravages of ALS.
Don attended Hackettstown High School where he participated in the Warren Tech food service program and the track and cross-country teams. After graduating in 1980, he joined the Army serving for 6 years in Germany and Colorado. He returned to Hackettstown and began working in landscaping. In 1987 Don worked at Hackettstown Community Hospital. He used to like to talk about plowing the big storms and teaching people how to run the equipment. In 1998 he moved to Arizona with his wife and worked at the Dairy Queen in Prescott Valley. He moved to Port Murray in 2001 where he lived until his death. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, working out, and swimming with his wife in their pool.
Donald was pre-deceased by his parents James F (Jay) and Klaska (Kathy), and his brother Richard Ju. He is survived by his wife, Christine Brodeur, of Port Murray, his brother Paul (Sherron) of Freehold, nieces Alys Thorton (Robert) and nephew Aiden, Emily, Caitlin Santos (Henry). He is also survived by his half-brother Frederick of Weldon, NC and half-brother Patrick of Lebanon, NJ, nieces Dawn, Hadley, Danielle (Kevin Rambo) Emma, Sara and Lilly, Nichole (David Ehasz), Addison, Alana, and Rachel MacClellan and nephew Marcus MacClelIan. Also left to mourn are his family by heart Debbie, Michael, Luke, Isa, and Gabi Alvidrez of Jacksonville, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at noon. at The Episcopal Church of the Messiah, 50 State Route 24, Chester, NJ 07930

August 30, 2025 at 1:12 pmI will always have a special memories of my time with Don over these past several months. We enjoyed watching the PGA tournaments and he marveled at the players shot making. He was dedicated to his wife Christine, and enjoyed watching their special TV programs together.
