Claire Theresa Marks, age 92, of Blairstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Forest Manor Health Care Center in Hope, New Jersey.
Born January 23, 1933, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Claire was the beloved daughter of the late Herman J. and Marie (Grazioli) Beckmeyer and sister to the late Fred Beckmeyer and Mary (Beckmeyer) Dennis.
Claire proudly served her country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1953 to 1954. After her service, she began her professional journey at BBD&O Advertising in New York City, and later enjoyed a long, fulfilling career with the International Union of Operating Engineers (I.U.O.E.) Local #14 A, B, C in Manhattan, where she served as Fund Administrator until her retirement. In retirement, Claire completed her studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree at Montclair State University, fulfilling a lifelong aspiration.
A woman of many passions, Claire was an avid reader, painter, loved to travel, and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was most passionate about France for its history, architecture and anything related to her favorite artist, Paul Cezanne.
Claire is survived by her children, Robert Marks and Robin Marks; and her treasured grandchildren, Kayla and Nile Marks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, with Father Leopoldo Salvania officiating. Interment will follow at Madonna Cemetery in Fort Lee, NJ.
