Daniel J. McIntyre, born February 6, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away on April 12th at his home in Pocono Pines, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Dorothy McIntyre and Sister Donna.
While in Brooklyn during his earlier years, Dan attended Xaverian High School and graduated from Brooklyn College in 1972. He entered the world of banking and finance thereafter, employed as a CPA with Arthur Andersen, and account executive with Merrill Lynch, Shearson Lehman, and others.
In 1989, he moved full time to the Lake Naomi/Timber Trails community in Pocono Pines where he resided for 33 years. He was an active member of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick and spearheaded many golf tournaments and fundraisers to raise money for scholarships benefitting local students attending the University of Notre Dame. He was also the President of the Notre
Dame alumni association. Dan was an avid golfer and sports fanatic, especially cheering on Notre Dame Football either at home or from within the walls of the House That Rockne Built. He loved to cook and share his gourmet creations with his family and was determined to own, but not necessarily use, every kitchen gadget invented.
He is survived by his loving family Cathy McIntyre, daughters Danielle Witt (Dan) and Katie Lesh (Dave), grandchildren Brady, Amelia, Tessa, Greyson and Devon, and siblings John, Cathy, Teresa and Ann and their extended families.
