Doris Mary Miller, 95, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, at Paragon Village in Hackettstown NJ. Doris was born January 31, 1928 in Queens, NY. She was the daughter of the late Edward and the late Marie (Zimmer) Rudden. Doris was a 56 year resident of Islip, NY. She moved to Hackettstown in 2019, with her husband Wade Nelson, of 65 years.

Doris was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology of New York. She worked as a textile artist in Manhattan, before leaving that industry to raise her sons in the 1960s.  Doris loved painting. She also enjoyed boating, playing cards, bird watching, and vintage movies; especially westerns.

Doris is survived by her son Wade Martin and wife Kimbra of Long Valley NJ, and son Nelson Edward of Oneida NY. Doris was predeceased by her husband Wade Nelson, and daughter    -in-law Jeanne Miller of Oneida NY. In addition, Mrs. Miller is survived by her grandsons; Ryan and wife Kelly of Friendswood TX, Logan and wife Jenna of Northampton Township PA, and Sean and Cody of Oneida NY.

Services for Doris Miller were private, and entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Hackettstown.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Audobon Society and the Islip Methodist Church 350 Main St., Islip, NY 11751 are appreciated.
