Sara A. Miranda, lifelong seamstress and mother passed away on Friday, November 24,2023 at Chatham Hills Subacute in Chatham, NJ. She was 101.

Sara was born on November 6, 1922 in Dorado, Puerto Rico. She was the youngest girl of 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls. She had a passion for sewing that was instilled within her at a young age. A talent that would help her provide for her family and herself well into her 90’s. She worked in different dress shops throughout NY before she started doing alterations and dress making from the house. She made several wedding gowns, including the wedding gowns she made for her 3 daughters and daughters in law. She also made christening gowns and her granddaughter’s Quincenera dress

Sara married Tomas and they raised 6 children, Charlie, Hector, Carmen, George, Nilda, and Sara.

Sara was also blessed with 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Grandson Jason, grandson Joey, grandson Johnny, granddaughter Jenny, grandson Billy, grandson Christopher, granddaughter Kimberly, and grandson Robert. Sara was predeceased by her parents Ulises Suria and Josefina Campos, siblings Vitin, William, Jorge, Teresa, Idanis, Berto, husband Tomas, and two sons Charlie and Hector.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with a memorial service starting at 12:30 pm, with Father Kevin Corcoran officiating at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
