Norton, Carol September 29, 1949 - March 16, 2026

Date of Funeral

March 20, 2026

Carol Norton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, passed away on March 16 at the age of 76. Born on September 29, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, she devoted her life to caring for others, loving her family fiercely, and embracing every chapter of life with grace and determination.

She began her career as a nurse, a role that reflected her compassionate spirit and steady presence. In the mid‑1980s, she embarked on a new path in real estate, where she built lasting relationships and earned great respect for her dedication and work ethic. Later, she returned to her first calling—nursing—spending the final 17 years of her career caring for residents at Bristol Glen Nursing Home, where she made a meaningful impact on both colleagues and patients.

She first married Michael Weber, with whom she welcomed her daughter, Melissa. Though their paths eventually diverged, they remained connected through the family they built.

In time, she found a lasting and devoted partner in James Norton, to whom she was married for 37 years. Together they blended their families and built a relationship that was a beautiful example of companionship, laughter, and unwavering support.

Outside of work, she filled her life with the things she loved most. She and Jim were avid travelers, always eager to explore someplace new, and enjoyed many happy hours on the golf course together. But above all, she was most passionate about her family. She adored her 8 grandchildren and 4 great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Her warmth, encouragement, and unconditional love will remain with them always.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Norton, her daughter, Melissa (Weber) Szymanski; step children Michael and Leesa Norton, her grandchildren: Brittany, Jordan, Brianna, Mikayla, Gisela, Tori, Larena and Landon; great‑grandchildren: Christian, Gabriella, Jaxon and Aria; siblings Patricia Mortensen and Robert Anderson and all who had the blessing of knowing her. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, strength, and generosity of spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents Stella and Frank Anderson, step-father Robert Anderson and Sister Suzanne Mayerski.

The viewing will be held on Friday March 20, 2026 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm with a celebration of her life starting at 5:30pm at Cochran Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ 07840.  Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.cochranfuneral.com/
