John D. Ort, age 85, of Hackettstown, NJ passed away on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown, NJ. John was born October 22nd, 1936 in Orange, NJ to the late Frank Ort and Amelia (Jancsik) Ort. John was a graduate of Montclair State University and taught social studies in the West Orange school system for 42 years.
John’s wife Helga Ort passed in 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Andréa J. Stevens and husband Bryan, grandchildren, Nicholas A. and Emileigh J. Stevens and several relatives from the Ort family.
Visitation will be on Monday December 6th, 2021 from 3 to 7 pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday December 7th, 2021 at 1030 am at the Church of the Assumption of the blessed Virgin Mary, 302 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, 07840.
