Dolores Pavilonis, age 88, of Mansfield Township, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021. She was born on July 23, 1932 in Newark, NJ to the late Louis and Matilda Waidner. She was married for 61 years to Walter S. Pavilonis.
In Dolores’ early years she worked as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone, a candy packer at M&M Mars and an assembler at Bates Manufacturing Company. But her favorite job was raising her four daughters and being a homemaker. She loved to host parties and was known for cooking enough delicious food to feed an army. She made every occasion extra special.
Dolores is survived by her beloved husband, Walter, and her daughters Cynthia (Eugene H.) Topoleski of Washington, NJ; Carolyn (Scott) Hilpert of Cary, IL; Linda (Christopher C.) Becker of Easton, PA; Barbara (Dennis) Bisson of Blairstown, NJ; her sister Elizabeth Pignatore of Iselin, NJ; grandchildren Eugene W. Topoleski, Annie Topoleski, Walter Liska, Emily Becker, Christopher J. Becker, Olivia Hilpert, Andrew Hilpert and Suzanne Burr who she fondly thought of as her fifth daughter. Dolores is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Matilda Waidner; brother Louis Waidner; and nephew Louis Waidner Jr.
A visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service staring at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown NJ.
