Phillips, Harry J. (Nick) September 17, 1943 - January 24, 2021

Harry (Nick) Phillips, 77, of Hackettstown, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 24 surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

Nick was born on September 17, 1943 in Madison,NJ, one of eight children to the late Loretta Degraw. He grew up in Boonton before settling down with his family in Hackettstown. Nick spent many years as an auto mechanic prior to retiring. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion for 25 years, having served as a past commander. Nick was an avid golfer who will be remembered by all who love him for his quick wit, candor, huge heart, love for singing, ability to always put a smile on his grandchildren’s faces, and his unwavering love and pride for his family.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife, Carol (Malaska), to whom he was married for 49 years; his daughters: Lindsay O’Brien and husband, Keith; Loretta Masterson and husband, Rob; and Lauren Smith and partner, Chris Tosh; and his grandchildren: Peyton, Jackson, Chase, Riley, Dylan, Teagan, Madison and Brandon

The funeral will be held 7:30 pm on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Pastor Ninabeth Metcalf officiating.  Cremation is private.

Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
