James Reggiani
February 19, 1951 – March 29, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Reggiani, age 74, of Hackettstown, NJ. Jim peacefully departed this life in the comfort of his home, embraced by his family, in the early hours of Saturday, March 29th. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor, brother, and friend, Jim’s humor and spirit will be deeply missed. Born on February 19th, 1951, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Elizabeth (Burniston) and James Reggiani, he was one of seven children and enriched by the influence of his six sisters.

Jim shared nearly 52 cherished years with his high school sweetheart, Sharon (Tommasone), raising four children and becoming the beloved “Ba” and “Papa” to five grandchildren. Preceding Jim in death were his parents and sisters: Jane Wolfe, Tish Einstein, Judy Murray, Linda Wolfe, and Liz Frey.

After attending Temple University, Jim pursued various careers from architecture and design to sales, forming lifelong bonds at every turn. A pillar in his community, he played a pivotal role in nurturing local youth sports, notably soccer and wrestling. Jim was known for forming lasting friendships with all he encountered, including neighbors, coworkers, fellow coaches, classmates, and professionals from all walks of life.

Dedicated to his family, Jim took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren and extended family across Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Missouri, New York, Arizona, and Michigan. Whether fine-tuning corner kicks and fastballs, solving car issues, offering gardening advice, or cheering from Zoom calls and live streams, his presence was a constant source of support and love.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his sister, Donna Noonan (Phil); his children, Chris (Liz), Ryan (Sarah), Jim (Dorene), and Dana (Brendan); and his adored grandchildren, Stella, Josef, Juniper, Elliot, and Vanessa. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law, Robert Tommasone (Marianne), Tom Wolfe, Karl Wolfe, Stu Einstein, and Dennis Frey, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who cherish his memory.

Jim will be remembered for a life well-lived, rich with love and warmth. A memorial service to honor Jim will be held on Saturday, April 12th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, in memory donations can be made to stjude.org .

Sharon and family. Thanks so much for sharing this special guy with us. He was one of a kind. We all learned so much from him. I couldn’t wait to text him after every ball game my kids played for advice and what he saw. I cherished those calls and texts. We love you all so much. Hugs and Prayers.

    Reggiani family and friends,

It’s with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences with the passing of your father, grandfather and friend. As I look back, Jim was always an important figure to me at a time when I needed it most. A voice of reason and humility, and of course humor while also embodying a spirit unique to himself. He leaves the legacy behind in the creation of beautiful human beings: Chris, Jim, Ryan and Dana and the ever loving support of his wife Sharon. It warms my heart to know that family was around at the time of his passing to close the door to a beautiful and wonderful life filled with family and friends and a lifetime of experiences. I send my regards and love to all of you. Peace to you I will be there in spirit.
    Love, Steven

I met Jim over 40 years ago and was so impressed with his wit and intelligence. He was running a paint & wallpaper store in Hackettstown. He was so good with people, had such a generous spirit. The fleck in his eye made him unique but his common decency is what made him beloved.
