Robert Reistad, age 81, of Hackettstown died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.  Robert was born June 29, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Sigvald and Marie (Anderson) Reistad.

Robert proudly served in the US Army as a Paratrooper during the Vietnam War and then continued to serve in the US Merchant Marines.  He was employed by Circleline, New York City (22 years) as a Circleline Captain and for Moran Towing Marine Transportation and Harbor Services (30 years) before his retirement.  Robert was a former Mason of the Budd Lake Masonic Lodge, was an avid NY Yankee fan and enjoyed going on cruises and taking trips to Atlantic City with his wife.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara (Falconer) Reistad, his four daughters, Kim and Donna Reistad, Cathy & James DiBenard,  Karen & Stephen Dellosso and a son, Robert J. Reistad, 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Roy & Dennis Reistad, and a sister, Gerd Reistad.
