Richard Kehler, 90, of Hackettstown found his eternal comfort in the Everlasting Arms of our Lord January 13, 2021. Born September 21, 1930, in Easton, PA, to Raymond and Gertrude (Cook) Kehler, Richard grew up in Washington and Hackettstown. He married the love of his life Gloria (Blake) on January 9, 1950, and just celebrated 71 years of joy-filled time together.
The Kehlers were busy creating a life centered around family. Richard was an example of selfless generosity to all who knew him. Everyone will always remember his kindness and compassion. His deep love for his family anchored generations that reflect that same love across each age.
He leaves behind his loving wife Gloria and six children: Deborah and Peter Fisher of Florida; Bradley and Colleen (O’Connell) of NJ; Diane Gaber and Adrian Perrachio of Connecticut; Robert and Donna (Mongiello) of NJ; Susan and Leonard Richards of PA; and Blake and Beth (Orcutt) of Maine. There are 11 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren spreading from coast to coast to coast. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth, and his brother Gary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either:
Trinity United Methodist Church 213 Main St. Hackettstown, NJ 07840 www.catchthespirit.org/online-giving/
or
Alzheimer Association 225 N. Michigan Avenue Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home. Because of Covid 19, a service for family members only will be held. A life celebration is planned for later this year. Thanks to all of you for your love. For those wishing to leave online condolences, please www.cochranfuneral.com

January 16, 2021 at 12:09 pmGrowing up in another big Hackettstown family, we got to know most of the Kehler’s. Not so much Mr and Mrs though – until Sue married Len and became one of my wife Theresa’s best friends. It was then that we were introduced to how loving and kind both of them were. In Mr Kehler’s passing we know the family feels a great loss, and we would ask the Lord to comfort you all in this time of bereavement. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Tim and Theresa Wallace, Asheville.

January 16, 2021 at 2:53 pmMr. Kehler was one of the most positive people I ever met. He always had good words to share with me and always had a smile and a story. His passing leaves a great void. My mom (who attended HHS at the same time) has told me he and Gloria were just as nice in high school. My condolences to the entire family.

January 21, 2021 at 12:06 amPlease accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Richard. My family and I had the distinct pleasure of living next to “Me Ma and Pop Pop” for many many years. Me Ma and Pop Pop were more than just neighbors, they were like family to the Milton’s. My brother and I have so many fond memories of running through the bushes and swimming in the pool throughout the summer or waiting to hear the gravel driveway because that meant Me Ma and Pop Pop were back from Florida. We always knew it was 5 o’clock when we would look out across the front yard and we would see Me Ma and Pop Pop on the front stoop having a cocktail. They were the best neighbors! Pop Pop will always hold a special place in our hearts & he will be greatly missed by all. Courtney Milton
