Caitlin Mariel Sander, beloved daughter, sister, auntie, friend, passed away on June 10, 2026
She was 38 years old, 6 days away from her 39th birthday.
Caitlin was born in Hoboken, NJ on June 16, 1987. We moved to Oxford in 1991 where she attended Oxford Central School and Warren Hills High School & Vocational School for fashion design. She had an eye for beautiful things in the world especially clothing. She was very artistic and loved reading, especially history and could discuss about almost any subject.
Caitlin is survived by her parents Hans & Donna Sander, brother Aidan & his wife Monique & their children, Cait’s nephews, Gavin and Landon, her Uncle and Aunt Chris and Jule Sander and their daughter, Cousin Catherine; her nieces Jaden & Rori & nephew Lukas.
Caitlin was pre-deceased by her grandparents, Marie Clisham Smith, Walter and Hilda Smith, Kathe and Hans H Sander; her uncle Kevin Smith.
Caitlin was a much beloved friend to many especially to her bestie, Elizabeth Berwind.
She will leave a space in all of our hearts forever.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High St., Hackettstown, NJ, 07840
Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ. Friends and family to speak at 7:00 pm.

Although we have not spent a lot of time together over the years, every interaction we have had has always impressed upon me what sincere, kind-hearted, and loving human beings you both are. I am sure these are qualities you passed on to your children and I can only imagine the special person Caitlin grew into.
