Cathleen J. (Wydner) Schneider
Sunrise: January 24, 1970 ~ Sunset: June 17, 2025
Cathleen “Cathi” Schneider passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the age of 55, surrounded by her family.
Born at Morristown Hospital, Cathi was a lifelong resident of Schooley’s Mountain, New Jersey. She was a proud graduate of West Morris Central High School, Class of 1988, and went on to study Graphic Design at Caldwell College.
Cathi found joy working with children for over 20 years at Kids Club in Chester, NJ. She also served as a dedicated Pharmacy Technician at Weiss and ShopRite Supermarkets. Cathi was a caregiver by nature, including a short time she cared for her late father, John Wydner, in her home.
Cathi was married to her beloved husband, Chris Schneider, for 29 years. Together they built a home full of love, laughter, and furry companions. She is survived by her two cherished dogs, Storm and Thunder, and two cats, Ca$h and Tigger2—along with the lively wildlife who shared their Schooley’s Mountain property.
Cathi is survived by her devoted husband, Chris; her unwavering loving mother, Betty-Jo Wydner; her sister, Lauren Cannizzaro, and brother-in-law Russell Cannizzaro; and their three adored nephew and nieces: Orion, Summer, and Phoenix.
She is also survived by her father-in-law, Michael McCarthy, and brother-in-law, Kirt Schneider, his wife Loni and family. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Brian Schneider and her mother-in-law Jane McCarthy.
Cathi is mourned by her aunts Barbara Ann Shaw, Claudia K. Tiger, and Peggy Jane Perrine, along with her Uncles Tom Wydner, Bill Wydner and Dan Wydner and numerous cousins and extended family who loved her dearly.
Cathi will always remember the quarter story with her late Aunt Terri Geisler.
Cathi had a special love for nature. She delighted in photographing sunsets from her property, lovingly tended to her many hummingbird feeders, and enjoyed watching cooking shows—always encouraging Chris to try new recipes for them to enjoy together. Cathi’s artistic talents were readily volunteered for friends and family projects.

June 22, 2025 at 11:13 pmI’m deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Cathi. She was more than just a friend from high school—she was a constant source of kindness and strength, always there for those around her.
I’ll never forget how she stepped in when I needed someone most—like the time she took me to get my license when my family couldn’t. That simple act meant more to me than words can express. That was Cathi: selfless, dependable, and always giving without expecting anything in return.
No matter how many years pass, the memories we made will always mean the world to me. They’ve stayed with me, just like her impact on everyone lucky enough to know her.
Rest easy, Cathi. Your light and love live on in all of us.
