Schultheis, Betty Lou July 14, 1941 - December 19, 2023

Betty Lou Schultheis, age 82, of Hackettstown died Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.  Betty was born July 14, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Harry L. and Marjorie L. (McPhetridge) George.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Linton.

Betty was previously employed by Telecordia Technologies, Piscataway, NJ as the Director of Call Services for many years before her retirement. Prior to that, she worked for AT&T.  Betty was an extremely career oriented person.  Being a woman in a male dominated world, she rose to the challenge and was recognized early in her career as an integral member of the team.  Above all, she was a delightful grandmother to her four grandchildren and was an asset to her community.  Serving on the Worship Commission at the Panther Valley Ecumenical Church, Allamuchy, NJ, was the former Mayor of Allamuchy, the former chair of both the Warren County Economic Development Advisory Council and the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as the Copy Editor of the Panther Valley Panther.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Corbett and husband Chip, three sons, Stephen Schultheis and husband Peter Hughes, Scott Schultheis and wife Allison, Jeffrey Schultheis and wife Jamie Lowry, a sister, Janet Miller and husband George and four grandchildren, Tara, Lauren, Luke and Blake Schultheis.

A memorial visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ, January 20, 2024 from 10 am – 2 pm.  A memorial service will follow at the Panther Valley Ecumenical Church, Route 517, Allamuchy, NJ at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Panther Valley Ecumenical Church, 1490 Route 517, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 in memory of Betty.
