Semanchik, Robert J February 17, 1942 - April 29, 2021

Robert J. Semanchik, age 79, of Allamuchy died Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Clare’s Hospital of Denville, NJ. Robert was born February 17, 1942 in Newton, NJ. He is the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Stang) Semanchik. He was predeceased by his wife, Karen, and brothers Jacob and Andrew.

He is survived by four sons, Marc Semanchik and his wife Cheryl, James Semanchik and his wife Tracy, Aaron Semanchik, and Joseph Semanchik and his wife Skyler. He is also survived by one daughter; Deana Semanchik, his maternal aunt Ruth Stang and uncle Clarence Stang as well as grandchildren Jenny, Rebecca, Eric, Tyffanie, Tori, Allie, Jayden, Natalie, Julia and Christina and several great-grandchildren.

Robert was a long-time resident of Allamuchy Township. His spent over 20 years as a laborer with the Vernon Road Department – if you lived there Bob likely plowed your streets, and your kids played on the ball fields he manicured. He was always a phone call away if you needed a hand. His hobbies included tinkering on his trucks, fishing at the local hot spots, and cruising on his beloved motorcycles.

Robert and his wife Karen fostered over 50 children, five of whom were lucky enough to be adopted into the strong, loving family. His family affectionately called him Bobby John. He volunteered at the Green Township Firehouse who honored him with the designation of Lifelong Member. He also loved his association with the NJ Red Knights Motorcycle Club Chapter 13 for firefighters, and with the Christian Faith Fellowship Church. His friends and family will forever miss his wry smile and big heart, and his grand-dogs Blue and Daisy already look for him out their window.

A celebration of Robert’s life will take place Saturday May 15th beginning at 2:00pm with a short service at Green Township Firehouse, 243 Kennedy Road, Greendell, NJ 07839, followed by transport to his internment next to his parents at Tranquility Cemetery. His family welcomes visitors to remain or return to the firehouse for fond reminiscing in a safe and distanced manner. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Green Township Firehouse http://greentownshipfire.com/ or your local fire department who are struggling without public fundraising events.
