Anna Sicari, age 97, of Spotsylvania, VA died Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredricksburg, VA. Anna was born on October 2, 1924 in Boston, MA. She is the daughter of the late Giovanni and the late Domenica (Poli) Giubilo.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society. Anna was a skilled and talented seamstress and worked in the Garment District in Boston, MA for several years. She then went on to work for Priscilla of Boston, MA and designer Priscilla Kidder, Ms. Kidder designed for Grace Kelly, Luci Baines Johnson, and Tricia Nixon’s wedding gowns. Anna had the privilege to assist on the Presidential daughter’s gown of Luci Baines Johnson.
Most important to Anna was her faith and her family. She was 1 of 9 children and loved caring for her younger siblings. Who called her “Mamma Picolla” (Little Mother). Anna did everything with love. She loved to sew, and cook and was known for being a great cook. Her family brought her joy but her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her the greatest joy and love.
Anna was pre deceased by her loving husband, the late Attilio Sicari, of 58 years, and by 6 of her siblings, Giuseppe, Tomaso, Pasquale, Umberto, Concetta, and Suor Maria.
She is survived by her children, Maria (Sicari) Hoover, and husband Robert C. Hoover, Dr. Sebastiano Sicari, 2 Sisters, Giovanna (Giubilo) Nizza, and Francesca Giubilo, 2 sister In laws, Melina Giubilo and Italia Sicari, Many Grandchildren, Cristina Hoover, Adam and Margaret (Milite) Hoover, Robert John and Jennifer (Cromie) Hoover, Catherine Sicari, 2nd Lieutenant Anthony Sicari, John Sicari, Matthew Sicari, Great Grandchildren, Natalie Hoover, Robert James Hoover, Walter Hoover, George Hoover. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews in USA, Sicily, and Italy.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Good Shepherd Church, 48 Tranquility Road, Andover, NJ with Father Timothy Dowling officiating. Burial will be at the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Andover, NJ immediately following the mass.
