Stricker, Robert H. December 18, 1928 - June 4, 2021

Robert H. Stricker, age 92, of Long Valley, NJ died Friday, June 4, 2021 at Heath Village of Hackettstown, NJ.  Robert was born December 18, 1928 in New York City, NY to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Mehrtens) Stricker.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice (Martin) Stricker and his brother, Donald Stricker.

He served proudly in the US Army 1946 to 1947.  He was employed by Singer Co. as an Electrical Engineer for 35 years before retiring.  Robert was a competitive swimmer to the age of 84. He also  volunteered  his time helping handicap swimmers were he  was member of the Somerset YMCA, Bridgewater, NJ.  In his younger years he designed and built his own home and enjoyed making furniture. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Caryl Chilldres and husband Charles, his devoted sons, Ed  Stricker and wife Shelley, Ken Stricker and wife Sherri, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be Thursday, June 17 from 10 am – 12 noon at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840 with services beginning at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 23 East 26th Street, New York, NY 10010, www.jdrf.org in memory of Robert.
