Syfor, Charles W. February 12, 1955 - February 19, 2026

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

Charles W. Syfor (Charlie) passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Morris View Healthcare Center Morristown, NJ at the age of 71.

Charlie was born on February 12, 1955, in Newton, NJ. He is graduate from Hackettstown, NJ and joined the Army National Guard after.

During his life he served as Governor for Hackettstown, NJ moose lodge # 816 twice, was a firefighter for Hackettstown and a janitor for Allamuchy Schools.

He would play Santa for Allamuchy Schools and the Moose Lodge. His nieces Migdalia Gonzalez and Mary Woskobunik took the pleasure in knowing their uncle was the one playing Santa.

Charles would take a few weeks each summer to visit his close friends Dina Shifflet and Thomas Shifflet. While, there Tommy and Charlie would spend the days fishing. He would also spend time discussing baseball with his nephew Victor Woskobunik.

But more importantly Charlie was a loving Brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend.

He is survived by his brothers Edward Syfor and Lewis Syfor and his sister Evelyn Blakely.

He is predeceased in death by his parents George and Mary Syfor, and his brothers George W. Syfor, III and George E. Syfor.

A viewing will be held at Cochran Funeral Home on Wednesday, 25 2026 from 10:00am – 12:00pm with a service starting at 12:00pm.  Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown.

    Charlie was always kind. He did anything the fire chief or fire police chief asked of him. He was a fine man who will be missed by all who knew him.
