Irwin (Earl) Symons, 79, of Belvidere died Wednesday, July 28 at St. Lukes University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA surrounded by family.  Earl was born August 29, 1941 in Olyphant, PA.  He was the son of the late Raymond Jay and Thelma (Williams) Symons.  In addition to his parents Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn and step-father, Leonard Carr.

Earl’s childhood began in the Scranton, PA area where his family owned and operated Symons Printing in Olyphant.  He graduated from Johnson City High School after moving to Binghamton, NY and finally settled in Hackettstown, NJ in the late 1970’s.  Early retirement years were spent in Milford, DE before returning to NJ in Belvidere.  Earl loved meeting people and used his warm smile to build a successful career in sales, retiring from his Earl Symons Sales Associates business.  Earl loved to read, watch golf on TV and dine out.  Most of all he cherished his time with family, especially his grandchildren.  His unique laugh will be remembered by all who knew him and there will always be a salt shaker on the table for him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Helga Symons, her children, Joseph Farino and wife Carrie, Donna Farino and husband Dan Forte, his son Randy and wife Andrea, his daughter Renee and Benita, his 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha, Nicole, Joey, Dana, Gina, and his 2 nephews David and Tommy McDonald.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
