Thorpe, Wayne A., Sr. October 23, 1941 - May 1, 2023

Wayne A. Thorpe, Sr., age 81, of Pocono Pines, PA died Monday, May 1, 2023 at The Gardens Hospice, East Stroudsburg, PA.   Wayne was born October 23, 1941 in Orange, NJ to the late Eino Matthew and Helen (Murphy) Thorpe.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Yolanda Commarato and Debra Rawles.

Wayne was the owner/operator of Aries Auto Glass for many years before his retirement.  Wayne had a great sense of humor and was everyone’s best friend.  Those who knew him, loved him.  He enjoyed golf, was an avid reader, appreciated his daily crossword puzzle and was the Captain of  the Lake Naomi Bowling Team.  Wayne was a big fan of the New York Giants, Mets and Rangers.  Wayne will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Betty (Rawles) Thorpe , his beloved daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Bononno and husband Michael, his two loving sons, Wayne Thorpe, Jr. and wife Cyndi, Glenn Thorpe and wife Linda, a sister, Nancy Wewer and husband Herbert, twelve cherished grandchildren: Ryan, Eric, Sarah, Adrienne, Russell, Julia, Nicholas, Brett, Grace, Amanda, Haley and Jaime: five great grandchildren and (one on the way), his brother-in-law, Frederick Rawles and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne’s memorial service will be held 5:30 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ with Chaplin Mario Spadaro officiating.  Cremation is private.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12 from 2-6 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 in memory of Wayne
