Catherine M. Winters, age 48, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at home. Catherine was born September 22, 1973 in Paterson, NJ. She is the daughter of John Winters and the late Veronica (Brennan) Winters.
Catherine was employed by Covey Law, Brooklyn, NY as an Immigration Paralegal. She enjoyed baking, traveling, and was an avid reader. Her generous spirit led to a passion for helping the homeless in New York City and volunteering for the Mount Olive Food Pantry.
Catherine is survived by her devoted father, John Winters, her two loving brothers, Martin Winters and his wife Minh, John Paul Winters and his wife Kimberly, her cherished sister, Eileen Walsh and her husband Scott and her cherished nieces and nephews, Sarah, Colin and Billy Walsh, Lily and Brennan Winters, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins in the US and in Ireland.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 21 at Church Of The Assumption Of The Blessed Mary, 305 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J. with Father Damian Tomiczek officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, June 20 from 4 – 8 pm at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Olive Township Food Pantry 369 Sandshore Rd, Budd Lake, NJ 07828.

June 14, 2022 at 5:52 pmI have very vivid memories of Cathy as a child when she and the rest of the family would visit in Dalkey. I remember her mass of curly hair as Eileen and her would run round the garden. And then to meet her ,years later at our cousin Shane’s wedding and how she had grown into a beautiful and friendly woman. I remember how our young daughter Hollie would not dance with us and only wanted to dance with Cathy and Eileen.

I was very happy to hear from her a few months back that she had plans coming back to JC because she will be working again in NY. I would message her asking about immigration questions and she was a great help. She was a very sweet and caring woman and I know she will be missed.
